This course is designed to strengthen your clinical practice through general diagnostic ultrasound training. On completion of this two-day course, participants will obtain the necessary skills to immediately integrate ultrasound of the musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, and pulmonary systems into any clinical setting, from ambulatory care to the intensive care unit (ICU). With a combination of online pre-course material and in-person didactic and lab components, this course will give the learner the foundations of ultrasound physics and fundamentals, anatomy and sonoanatomy, pathology, and differential diagnosis while providing the learner 16 contact hours.

This interactive course is led by skilled faculty with emphasis on low faculty to participant ratios and ultrasound scanning of live models to provide the realistic training needed to perform and interpret ultrasound imaging. You will have access to various portable ultrasound units in this course to improve proficiency, no matter your clinical setting. At the conclusion of the course, attendees will be able to:  

• Demonstrate a foundation of ultrasound knowledge
• Describe basic anatomy of Musculoskeletal (MSK) and Cardiovascular and Pulmonary (CVP) structures using ultrasound
• Discuss relevant MSK and CVP pathology
• Acquire quality images with basic sonographic views of the MSK and CVP systems through participation in hands-on lab sessions
• Discuss image interpretation and proper referral
